This is mode I did to the stock muffler. It gave the bike a nice sound.

The Muffler mode is simple to do. there are two ways of doing it. But you leave it on the bike. there's no need to remove them.
1. If you take a look at end of the pipe you will see that the inside is cone shaped. You remove this cone by using a dremel tool with a cutting wheel or a drill and pair of pliers will do also, just more work. Once you have the cone out, you should see a short pipe and a plate holding it in place. Using the drill again drill 4 holes evenly spaced around the out side of the pipe in the plate. Start with a small bite at first, say 1/4" on both sides and see what it sounds like. then just use a bigger bite if needed. I think a 3/8'' bite on mine.

2. this is the simplest way is go get a hole saw, a 1/2' or 3/4" and a extension. If memory serves me the 3/4 just fits the in inside of the pipe. A step drill bite will work also it just needs to fit in the pipe. With step drill bite you can dial in that sound. The extension is needed to get to the back of the pipe.

The first one will take about 35 min. each. and the 4 holes can be plugged if needed and removed.

The second will take about 5 min. each. you can plug this but it can't be removed. the other think I found out from others is go down the the dealer and ask if they save the stock mufflers when they replace them. if they don't you could pick up a pair for free. now you can put it back to stock if needed.

Randall, the sound is great. What did you do to the stock without changing backpresure influence on the compression and carburation? I am curious as I have pretty good sound from my stock 2 into 1 but could be imporved a little. Can't afford to add a new system or a slip-on (Road House makes one for around $400.00 through a discount parts company). If it is something easy, I can probably do it myself.
