Currently I am in Daytona Beach Shores looking for a place to live and a job, it sure doesnt look good. Lots of rentals, but without income, that becomes a bit of a problem! The weather is phenominal here. I know a couple Drifter riders in the area so that helps with the being alone thing. Hard for a girl nowadays to be on the road. Wish I could have brought my bike. Could have cleared my head and not cared about anything briefly. If nothing else am getting great exercise on the beach.
Hi Dion. I got the notice we had a new member, so welcome aboard! As to your question about where have you seen me before, I've been around since Hector was a pup, so it might have been anywhere.
Yes, I was active in the original Classmates.com, but drifted away years ago because I didn't see a point in paying for membership when I'm active in so many (other) sites who don't make a charge. And in my humble opinion (only), Facebook has effectively rendered Classmates.com of negligible value ... but I emphasize that is only my opinion. Ride safe, and again, welcome to MotorcycleMyPlace.com.
P.S. I notice you are from Wisconsin. I am from Iowa, but I do ride in WI, so perhaps we've been a a joint run somewhere? Sometimes the crowds are too large to really meet or remember individuals ... just a thought.
Hope you enjoyed the carlyle stay! I love Niehaus Cycles, bought an electric jacket from them so I could ride in the cold weather, so far I am comfy at 30 degrees, for abuot 2 hours, then I need to warm my feet. If you are in the area give me a shout. I do enjoy riding. We can take a lap around the Lake, about 70 miles of backroads ending in a Fish dinner at a local Restaurant. Rob
OH the cold is awful isn't it? Here in PA we're in the negatives and that's a bit unusual. But I won't complain too much - I think you have it worse there?! Sure could use some nice weather. I have two seasonal rides now and I'm extremely anxious to get them both on the road! (Very proud owner of a new mustang gt - xmas present)
Hi Dion....Just joined today and i don't know where to read your comment you left me?!? Duh! My husband and I don't have goldwings but we do have hondas. He has a valkyrie and I have an 1100 shadow. We recently moved to Illinois from Houston. What a culture shock to us...we could ride almost 11 months out of the year in Texas but up here....I guess we'll be lucky to get on in March.... :(
Thanks for the info Dion! I love meeting fellow riders and riding in new places. We are very excited about being able to ride in so many new place now that we live up here. In Texas, you have to ride almost a whole day just to get out of Texas or you could always go through the boring roads in Louisiana...been there, done that...it's time for a change! I'll check out your profile and see the group you ride with. I'm sure we can hook up and ride some time.
Yes, Dion, DeWitt is right on U.S. #30. The motorcycle museum is in Anamosa, as you said. That's just an hour or so from DeWitt. We use Iowa highway 64 as you mentioned, or more often, Iowa #136. Highway #136 has lots of turns and is great in some spots ... but broken up in places, so care should be taken. I've never been to "J.P. Cycles"; I'll check them out when the snow lifts in the spring. Later...
