Where is everybody?

It has been awhile but I noticed that there wasn't a lot of activity the last time I checked.  We need to get started reminising about this last summer as many of us will not be on the bikes until late March or April!  What is your summer story/ride?

I will get us started:  I have begun a program toward ordination through the Episcopal diocese of Utah.  I must drive to Salt Lake City once a month for a weekend seminar.  When it came time for the September weekend, the weather looked promising.  When I left McCall, ID it was a chilly Fall morning but clear skies.  It would be a 450 mile ride upon arrival in SLC.  It was a beautiful drive that day, getting in to the upper 70's.  Interstate 84 to just past Burley, ID is rather boring but I was on the bike in late September.  I 15 to Salt Lake was a great ride with changing landscape from Idaho farmland to sage brush and fall brown out on the weeds.  When it came time for the return ride, I went as far as Twin Falls, ID Sunday afternoon.  Monday morning was chilly and clear so I decided to take the route up the Wood River Valley, through Hailey, Ketchum(Sun Valley) and Stanley then west on highway 21 to Banks then home.  The ride was simply spectacular with Aspens and Vine Maples in full Fall colors.  The temp was perfect never getting above 70 the whole day.  I was a great way to end the weekend and a great ride through the Wood River Valley and the Saw Tooth Mountains.  If you are ever in the area of Twin Falls and are going to head north going to Lewiston or further north, take the extra time to travel by way of Stanley.
