I want to purchase a video camera for an upcoming trip. It appears there are many choices on line. Does anyone have any advice or experience on motorcycle video cameras?

Does that mean if I am looking through the view finder, I could get a ticket? Please explain further. Thanks.

Be careful where you mount it. We mounted our Sony Camcorder on a GPS mount to record our trip down the "Tail of the Dragon". Video came out good, but was told after the fact that anywhere you mount it where it's visible to the rider is good for a ticket in several states. Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. I did alot of research on line and ended up buying a "Go Pro" motorsports video camera. It came out #1 of the cameras I looked at. It can be mounted to my bike or helmet and is even good to 100ft under water. I hope I don't need the under water protection while I'm riding. It might make an interesting video but could ruin my day.

I used an octupus flexible leg stand to mount my camera to so I could wrap it around my blanket rool on front. the camera I have had good success with is an older Polaroid that takes SD cards. The Poaroid a801 wil take stills and do a nice job of taking video as well. Haven't had any issues yet with camera wobble. the whole thing is removable in less than 10 seconds, and travels well on road trips.
