9-11-01 Memorial Project - Steel from the Twin Towers

Hello,

I am sending you this email to let you know that I am on the Kitsap 9-11-01 Memorial Project Committee that is working on getting a Memorial/Monument brought to Silverdale WA.

The goal is to have the memorial built prior to Sept. 11th 2011.

However, thanks to the New York City Port Authority, we have the honor of bringing some actual steel beams from the Twin Towers here as part of the monument and it will arrive within a couple months.

There will be a truck bringing the steel from NYC and a Motorcycle Escort is planned to welcome the driver to Washington State when he enters Washington on the I-90 near Spokane and take the steel to Silverdale.

We are working closely with the Patriot Guard Riders and the Law Enforcement agencies along the route to assist us with a smooth flow.

Anyone that wishes to join us on their motorcycle as we ride across the state is welcome to do so. We will have planned R&R stops along the way where people can join in.

This will be an all day ride with several people going over the night before to Spokane to meet the truck and stay in a motel.

We also encourage people along the route to greet us as we roll by.

Waving flags as we ride under overpasses, etc, would be a great way to show your patriotism and show America that we in Washington State have not forgotten.

Stay tuned for details as they come forward.

I will post the actual date and times as soon as I get them from the trucking company that will make the delivery.

And please forward this to EVERYONE you know...So they can prepare for it.
