Attended the 12th Annual Leesburg Bikefest and had a blast. Great time with a lot of great bikes. Met some good people and had a good ride there and back home.
We camped at the ABATE Campground for 2 nights, a little loud but hell it is a party right?
We already plan to attend…

Starting out on another blog page. Like I have a lot to say about anything. I'm just a guy trying to get along and enjoy life. Been married to my best friend since 1975 and I have 7 wonderful grandchildren. So what could be better than that?

Well this is my first blog, and not sure where to start, thus the title. What can I say, I love to ride, end of April will be a year since I purchased my first bike, a Honda Reflex, 250. I now have over 10,000 miles and looking to purchase a Burgman 650. I like Honda but I don't like the colors of the Honda Silverwing, next model up from the Reflex.
Just purchased new tires for the Reflex and will have the mounted and balanced next week, how exciting. I know that sounds strange but to me it's g…

My friend Lynette made the suggestion that I could share my experiences at Daytona Beach Bike Week for others who couldn't get there. I'll go a step beyond and talk about the 3 rallies I'm fortunate enough to attend almost every year.
In the southeastern U.S., we're lucky to ride almost year around. Bike meets are frequent and hosted by dealers, clubs like HOG and plenty of other organizations. You can Google search almost any time and any place around us and find an event.
There are 3 annual…

Spring is in the air. I'm sitting here in Chicago at this moment freezing my butt with arctic temperatures outside near zero, but I'm still fantasizing of warm air in my face rumbling down a two lane blacktop somewhere in the country side.
From this perspective, Daytona week is the first glimmer of opportunity for finding some like minded bikers to enjoy this fun. So I'm making it happen. I'm going to be there the first weekend, Feb 29 through March 2. I just finished making hotel rese…

I left on a Friday morning on my way to Fayetteville,
AR. and arrived in Indiana
that evening. Saturday I checked on my Indiana home, (which is being rented while I live in KS) visited my
favorite Harley shop, had some work done, and began riding familiar roads.
Sunday, up early, I headed South on I-65 to I-64, to I-75 South.
Eventually I connected with US 421 and the fun began. I consider… Continue

Thanksgiving weekend 2007
Thanksgiving was a joy this year! I left San Antonio Texas on Thanksgiving day at around noon headed to South Florida. The weather forecast wasn't looking very good. Plenty of rain predicted the entire route. And to make matters worse, that rediculous tempeture guage on my fairing that normally reads somewhere between 90 and 100 looked broken. It was "stuck" somewhere between 30 and 40. Ugh! Since I was leaving south Texas and we all know it never gets that c…
