The Richardson family consist of: my wife Tammy, Preston (17y son), Michael (2 Son) and my self William. I have been riding bikes since I was a young one,as most of my family did too. I love the sound and freedom of riding the opened road. But sadly I have never ridden more that a few miles away from home! I love a Harley but can never seem to own one..lol. My current bike is a Classic Yamaha xv500k. Its to small for me but its a classic! Well enough of my rambling, my family and I wish every rider a safe ride... Happy trails!!
The weather was pretty today and after being cooped up this winter I decided to go for a ride with my son. Yes my son is riding a moped and this means he has a top speed of 40mph! We rode 125 miles together side by side. We had no plan, no map, at every stop sign we said "which way" we shrugged our shoulders and just guessed. We stopped at 2 waterfall/dams that we pass by everyday in our travels ,and as we headed home I realized something that explained what owning a motorcycle is and should be about. Riding is not about getting from point A to B as we often do in our daily lives. Its about enjoying the ride in between! What you see, hear, feel and do that matters the most! My next ride will be based on this principal. So to all a toast "May the trip in between be the high life of your travels"
Heritage - mention this word to a crowd of motorcyclists, and Harley-Davidson usually comes to mind. Mention Yamaha to that same crowd, and look out for a fight.

Hi and welcome all.
I'm looking for riders who want to share there trip experiences in and around the N.C. area. I love to ride but don't know any riders my self and find it lonely riding by my self. I'm also looking for trips that you took riding that I might enjoy with my wife! So what was your favorite ride in N.C. ...
hey William Richardson I googled a couple trike makers and if you look up kits they run about 2000 for driver over kits but they recommend 1000 cc and not sure about the perment ones unless you want to totaly rebuild the bike and if you want a reverse gear for her you lose one forward gear. that is what i found out. thanks Vic
Thanks for the wishes. Yes, I've seen the web-site and we have several routes printed from it. Hope we can get together sometime but in the meantime, ride safe - and often! ;^)
QUOTE - WILLIAM Larry, sorry to hear about the bike, but see your coming to NC, where and why? Wouldn't mind meeting you. Were in Liberty NC. Well hope the bike is fixed with no other problems. My luck its always something else..Fix 1 thing something else goes....lol END OF QUOTE
Hi Bill (William?)!
As far as meeting you, we'd love to, but it might be difficult because of the distance between Robbinsville and Liberty. Our trip begins this Saturday, April 25 - we are trailering our bikes so we can drive straight through - and we should arrive Saturday night in Robbinsville, NC (a 12-14 hour drive). GoogleEarth tells me Robbinsville is about 5 hours west of Liberty, NC.
Morganton looks to be about half-way, but I can't commit even to a meeting half-way without discussing it with Chad (son and riding partner).
Our overall plan is to ride the Cherohala Skyway on Sunday (or other lesser-traveled but scenic mountain roads, avoiding crowds if possible). On Monday we want to ride the "Tail of the Dragon", when weekend traffic there has gone home somewhat.
We'll be heading home Tuesday morning, again driving straight-through going home.
Thanks for the add. I think she's a pretty bike...he wants to look for something bigger of course, but I'm going to keep this one for myself...LOL. That'll be a while of course...this gets great gas mileage right now.

additionally - american trike and mystery design are actual conversion kits that actually take away your back tire. Of the Tow-Pac variety, the ones that attach like a trailer around your back tire, I like Trigg Trikes the best. They are in KY and I…
americantrike.com also has a reverse gear option. the only one of it's kind that i have found after 8 months of searching. there are great photo instructions on the site, although i am having one of their dealers assembly mine. also mystery design h…
Hi Bill,
One of the more affordable - ignoring all other considerations - is "Tow Pac, Inc.". You can find their web-site with Google, but I've saved you the trouble if you are near one of the below dealers, all of whom are listed on the web as deal…
Look at the web site for Voyager Trike Kits. They build all kinds. Have a Happy New Year. Hope to be able to get to your area sometime and ride the Dragon Tail. Have many safe rides. Ken (Biscuit) Williams Nederland, Tx
