I own & operate a Vinyl Graphics shop, making decals, lettering vehicles, signs, that type of thing. Do a little airbrush work and sandcarving too.
Being self employed leaves me time to babysit my 22 month old grandson, 'Peyton' who is a joy to me.
I have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis for almost 10 years now, and Lupus for 2 years. Life is a day by day event with two such diseases. That's why I taught myself to ride last summer, borrowing my son in laws Harley Sportster 883 Low. Had never even sat on a bike before that. Had never even wanted to. But once I did, I was hooked! I rode it up and down our deadend street for a week, putting 75 miles on it and practicing all the manuveurs for the riding test and studied the book. Didn't test till this summer though, when I bought my own Honda Rebel 250. It's a great bike, I love it, but am going to buy a Honda Shadow Deluxe next summer.
You've gotta live each day like you may not be able to walk tomorrow!
Our house is a retirement home for 2 capuchin monkeys from Helping Hands Monkey Helpers Organization also. That is a trip. Living with 2 little monks. They are pretty neat.

Michigan trip

Took my first real trip out of the state last week. 9.19.08 thru 9.21.08 .
Left on Thursday and went up the coast of Lake Michigan to Holland. It was a great trip, despite all the road construction and getting turned around and taking detours. Like someone once told me..'you're never lost on a bike'....so it worked out okay.
Stayed the night in Indiana then went up to New Buffalo and followed the scenic roads on up.

Great River Road ride

Went over to Hamilton this afternoon and took the Great River Road north up to Dallas City, then took Hiway 9 back around to home.
That was a great ride! It was awesome riding along the Mississippi River like that. I just wish the road hadn't turned back into the country side at Nauvoo. It picked back up again at Dallas City, but by that time it was late (I didn't start as early as I'd wanted, so cut it short) so I thought I'd better get back towards the homeplace.

Mileage

I'd always just assumed I got around 65 mpg. Checked it the past three times I've filled up and here's what I got.
So three times I've filled up at 180 miles, has taken 2 gallons almost exactly each time to fill. So, that's pretty cool in my way of thinking. :) Ya gotta love it. ha.
