my first....

Well what can I say. I spent years as a passenger on bikes, other than occassional dirt bike riding. I love long bike rides. After saying "I want my license, I want a bike" for too many years, I finally took the plunge. I bought my little 650cc Suzuki S40 Boulevard because for a 650cc it is small in size, and is light weight. Well, I am only 5'4", I needed a small bike that still has some pick up. I dont want to have to buy a bigger bike in a year or two.

It is great. I can go anywhere I… Continue

I need something faster hopefully this year to keep up with my boyfriend he has a FJR300. We just went for a ride yesterday it was 50 here in Chicago area. Just can't wait till spring.

I Love mine as well! I have ridden Motorcycles for 35 years now and rode all over the United States. I owned a 2002 HD Road King for 5 years which was a great bike but I actually think I have more fun on the S40. I am a little taller than you at 6.0' so it doesnt fit me quite as well and I take a little ribbin from my buddys bot not as much after they see i can keep up with them. As you can see in my photo i have done a few mods to mine. Let me know if you are interested in getting a new exhaust (which makes it sound much better) or any other mods or add-ons. I have done a lot of research on this bike and have wrenched on cars and motorcycles for years and I know where to get the parts for the lowest prices.Check out this website if you havnt already. www.suzukisavage.com

You can sometimes get rid of the backfire by rejetting. How mechanically inclined are you? I have a supertrapp muffler on mine which pretty much gets rid of the lawnmower sound. It is easy to install and you dont have to rejet because you can change the backpressure by adding and subtracting discs. The down side is it costs around $300.00 Jardine also makes a muffler that is made for the S40 which costs about half that but you may half to rejet. What altitude do you live and ride at? I think there are some good sized mountains in NH arent there? Very flat here in FL. You may also want to add a windshield. Suzuki makes one for it for around $100.00. It makes a big difference in comfort and keeps you from having to pull yourself up against the wind. I have highway pegs on mine which allow me to stretch my legs out. I also have cruise control (throttle lock) which allows me to take my hand of the throttle on long trips. I ride all year long here but winter is really the best time to ride here because it gets to hot sometimes in the summer. Let me know if you are interested in any of these mods and I can send you the links for the best prices. Ride Safe!

This is where I buy all my Suzuki parts and accessories. They are the cheapest I have found and still offer good service. This is the windshield I have http://www.babbittsonline.com/pages/catalogs/detail/35/342/735/15519/1/0/0/0/0/0/0/0/custom-sport-shield.aspx The highway pegs I have are a combination of this engine guard http://www.babbittsonline.com/pages/catalogs/detail/35/342/736/15530/1/0/0/0/0/0/0/0/engine-case-guard.aspx and these pegs http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp?skuId=&store=Main&catId=4%2C409&productId=p505499&leafCatId=&mmyId= and you will also need this adapter http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp?skuId=&store=Main&catId=&productId=p505503&leafCatId=&mmyId= This is the throttle lock that I have http://www.babbittsonline.com/pages/catalogs/viewproductdetailbysku/U2t1U3RhcnRzOnZpc3RhIGNydWlzZQ==/1/13263/sound-off-recreational-universal-vista-cruise.aspx These are all easy to install. It is probably prime riding season there. Hotter than hell here. When you ride you try to plan to stay away from towns where there are a lot of stop lights and stay on the backroads where you can keep moving. Just local rides for me but I am itchin for a longer trip. My wife and I are planning to ride to cedar key or key west for the Labor day weekend.
Have you done any mods to your bike yet?
