Gonna have to ride this piece to see what's at the other end. I'll try to stay to secondary roads if I can, that part of the country is real nice to ride through.

Summer riding season coming to a close

I have to say I'm a bit saddened at how quickly it's gotten cold in North Carolina lately. I have to transfer to Rhode Island before very much longer, and have had to throw some extra clothes on now pretty far south of my next duty station. I've been everywhere this summer from the Outer Banks to the Badlands with some nice trips in the middle like the New River Gorge Bridge. I rode the Dragon and got bit, via the Cherokee Nation, in May, went out to Rider's Roost with a buddy in September, and… Continue

Transferring to Rhode Island next month

I transfer to Rhode Island next month. I haven't found any good housing yet. Does anyone have idea of neghborhoods to stay away from up that way? Any suggestions for nice towns to live in. I need to find housing sooner rather than later since I intend to mail my stuff up there and ride up that way with my 11 year old son. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Riders Roost weekend

I went out this weekend with a friend to see what RIder's Roost motorcycle campground had going on. It was well worth the ride from Jacksonville, NC out there. $12 a night camping, and$18 a night for a cabin. The place was packed with a band called amtter of fact playing on Saturday night. Maybe 200 people drinking and in some cases howling at the moon, but no fights or any drama. the road leading down into the campground is wicked sharp so if you go make sure you stay to the far right onthe way… Continue

I have to see wher you are going with the Navy Ghost Riders before I rejoin, you did seem to get more strung out on "the patch deal." Even if I rejoined, I would not wear a patch for an "online" group anyway. Your ideals are there, but you have to be more open, did you really read all the info an that web site? Even before I owned my bike, which is 12000 miles old as of today, I have been a member of ABATE for well over 5 years. Seen alot of what the site talks about.

Aaron, the best way for members to help out with our toy run is come out and join us and bring a toy. If you can not join us on our's, do not hesitate to join your area's toy run, no mater which group is "sponsoring" and not forgetting the USMC Toy's for Tots. Imagine yourself as a child in the hospital, having surgery, receiving treatment for life threatening illnesses, our just been hurt in a serious accident, the toys, activity books and batteries bought and donated by the community for the children will help ease their stress and fears. This is what it is all about.

Very easy fuel stabilizer, a little dry gas and I change all my fluids just for 2 reasons. The dirt in your oils aren't sitting there over the longer periods and it all set once the weather gets better. Good luck. Tom

durango is 500 miles from salt lake.. utah has a wide range of country to look at flat to mountinous, desert to farmlands and the run to durango has all of that.. the most beautiful part to me is the mountains of colorado, a lot of small mountain towns, one with a large hot springs vacation spot.. there are all kinds of places to stay from koa camps to hotel hiltons to tent it in the woods. lots of palces to fish in col., may want to do that in the future. weather in july/aug is usually hot and dry.
