Has anyone had experience with modifying stock V-star 650 exhaust. I just can't afford new exhaust and have read so many websites about drilling them out. I did the three hole mod and it changed it a little. Still sounds like a sewing machine. Anyone out there have any ideas. I don't want to pull the entire baffle, that would be too much. There is a website for 650 owners, http://www.650ccnd.com/. It's got a lot of ideas. Just wondered if anyone had some suggestions or warnings

My finance says if you want it loud that you'll have to go to a straight pipe or a different pipe system.

I wasn't unhappy with my exhaust system until my bratty 19 year old kept saying it sounds like a sewing machine. His 650 has straight pipes and sounds good. He even takes the baffles out sometimes. Then it's too loud, but what it too loud for a 19 year old!!. Just didn't want to drop couple huindred yet. My hubby been laid off.
