Ok, i have been riding for 40+ years, but been touring for the last 2 years (don't ask). In jan of 2007 I got a 2007 Yamaha Venture and now I have over 20,000 miles on it. Love that bike!

I saw your mod on the Venture. Like what you did with it. I have an 08 Venture and would love to get some sound to it. The cost is too high for the Bubbs and that is what I would like to but on the bike. Seeing what you did to yours I'm thinking for the time mabe thats the answer for me right now.
What about the back pressure/ air flow and all the other things that could go wrong with modding your bike?
Did you have to do anything else?

Well, I also did a mod on the air box at the same time. The stock air boxes (both sides) have a small opening around 1" 11/2" in size. I took both of them off the bike just like if you were going to service the air filter. once off the bike, remove the 5 bolts to remove the air filter case and remove the air filter. Once to got this cover off and have removed the air filter out you will see where the air comes into this box is through a small hole. You will also see that the main air box has two parts to it. the smaller one covers the other side of the hole that lets the air into main box where the air filter sites. Before remove the screws that hold the scoop cover, use a marker or a ice pick to mark the in side of the scoop. using the top part of the existing hole as the top of the new hole. cut out the new hole and put it all back together. With both of these mods I took my bike to my Yamaha tech and had him tune the bike. It runs just fine. I also got a little more horse power and mpg.
